Check Your Crowns and Fillings – You May Need to Whiten your Teeth
Crowns and fillings don’t whiten. You know that already. But there is another consideration.
Take this example: I was watching TV last night. During an interview there was this man with a distinct smile. One of his incisors was much whiter than the other. Obviously the whiter one was a crown. He probably got that crown years ago. Over time his crown remained the same color while his natural teeth darkened significantly. This man was a good example of someone who can greatly benefit from at-home teeth whitening.
If your crowns or fillings are whiter than your other teeth you should definitely consider at-home whitening. In this case there is a benefit of whitening at home. You can match the whiteness of your other teeth to your crowns. In-office bleaching is fast and unpredictable. Your natural teeth may turn out to be whiter than your current crown. Result? More money spent on replacing the crown. Great but expensive.
At-home whitening is slow. This gives you the opportunity to match the color of your teeth to the color of your crowns and fillings. Just stop when you are there.
