Teeth Whitening Kits – Getting Ready for Bleaching

I am sitting in my living room with several different teeth whitening kits around me. I bought these to evaluate them one-by-one. My goal is to get a general idea about how well these kits work and how comfortable they are.

I am writing my thoughts down tonight because I think my choice can give you an idea about which products are easier to use. Don’t forget. You will have to use your bleaching kit for several days or even weeks.

If I ever want to give you my honest opinion about teeth whitening kits I have to try them myself.

As I am trying to make my decision I realize. My laziness is making the choice tonight. Naturally I am about to choose the product that is easiest to use.

The 4 different teeth whitening kits I have are

• whitening toothpaste,
• whitening strips,
• a pain-on teeth whitening kit,
• and a custom fitted bleaching kit with 22% carbamide peroxide gel.

I have no problem with the toothpaste. I started brushing with that about a week ago. No results yet but I didn’t have high expectations anyway.

I am more troubled with the other three kits. I am most curious to try the custom fitted whitening kit. Why? Because I am excited. I have the highest hopes for that one. But I cannot use it tonight. I took impressions last night but I still have to send them back to the lab for processing. I whish I had a pair of thermoforming trays here too. I sure would like to begin with that right now.

Too bad, I have to choose between the other two teeth whitening kits. Paint-on or strips? That is the question.

With the paint-on bleach I have to clean and dry my teeth before I can apply the paint. Then I have to keep my mouth open while the paint dries. I am not in the mood tonight for the drying and painting part.

It is much easier with the strips. Just put them on for 30 minutes. When done I can throw the strips away. It sounds much easier. I will begin with the strips then.

I think you can learn from my example. At-home teeth whitening kits are tricky. They only work if you use them. Choose the one you are most comfortable with.
