Consistently whitening your teeth is harder than you think.

You must whiten all your teeth equally. Not all your teeth are going to whiten equally fast. Cupids – the 3rd teeth from the middle – are problematic for most people.

Whitening around the edges of your teeth is also more difficult.

What products get you consistent whitening?

To solve the problems with the edges you must make sure the whitening gel gets in contact with the entire tooth surface. And stays in contact too.

It is easier said than done. Only tray based teeth whitening products can do that consistently.

Whitening strips will not help.
Think about how whitening strips work. You stick a thin piece of plastic – almost like a tape – to your front teeth. The tape is flat your teeth are curved. There is simply no way strips can get the whitening gel to the edges of your teeth.

Tray based systems are made to fit your teeth. The whitening gel in the tray is forced onto your teeth and between the teeth. This is your only option.

Not all trays are created equal.

Thermoforming trays are cheap and they work in theory. However they only fit as good as you can mold them to your teeth.

Custom fitted trays are made to perfectly fit your teeth.

What products get you equally white teeth?

Some of your teeth are naturally darker. Some teeth will whiten slower. No whitening method can get your teeth whitened equally in a single step.

Avoid over-bleaching. Whitening all your teeth until the darker ones lighten up enough will over-bleach some of the others.

You need a method to whiten individual teeth.

You can use your custom whitening trays on individual teeth. It takes a little practice to learn how much gel to apply but it is one of the best methods.

Paint-on teeth whiteners
I usually don’t like to recommend paint-on whitening because of the higher risk. However if you only need to whiten a certain tooth paint-on products may come to help.
